Bug fixes, usability improvements, and new TraceX features

This changelog covers our last three releases to Huly, which included several bug fixes and usability improvements across the platform. We've also introduced new features and enhancements for TraceX. For a deeper dive into the details of our past releases, we welcome you to explore the release logs on our open-source repository, where you can find every PR shipped to the platform. Now, let's take a look at some of the highlights!

๐ŸŒŸ Enhancements

  • Improvements for task types: We've introduced several improvements for task types, some of which resolve issues reported in our community. If you've experimented with task types, you may have found that it was impossible to remove them โ€” with this update, you can now delete all of your empty tasks types from Settings. You may have also noticed that it's possible to set an icon for a task type, but the icons didn't appear anywhere in the Tracker interface. Now, task type icons are visible in the issue creation dialog and in the list view for easier identification. Finally, we've added a button to open all issues of a task type under All Issues in the Tracker, making it easier to filter for exactly what you need. #8015

  • Unarchive a workspace: It's now possible to unarchive your workspace by clicking the workspace on the list and select Unarchive. This is useful if you need to restore access to a workspace that was archived due to inactivity. #8084

๐Ÿž Bug Fixes

  • Show process statuses in the correct order: This PR fixes an issue with process states appearing out of order in kanban view. #8095

  • Allow any assignee to be used for GitHub projects: This PR resolves an issue reported by a community member in which GitHub only allowed an authenticated user to be assigned to an issue in a project synced to a repository. The fix involved updating the logic for assigning issues to allow any user to be assigned. #8178

  • Fixes for the HR module: We've fixed a few small issues in the HR module, including a fix for the time off request dialog and time calculations for Estimation and Remaining time on issues. #8062

  • Stay in same view after deleting a sub-issue: This PR fixes an annoying bug that cause a redirect back to the Tracker view when a sub-issue was deleted. With this fix, you'll stay in the parent issue view after deleting a sub-issue. #8051

  • Fix issue with document updating: Documents were found to mysteriously update and record activity when a user opened and closed the document without making any changes. This PR fixes that issue, so document activity will record more accurately. #8202

  • Fix hyperlinks in read-only (guest) documents: This PR resolves an issue causing hyperlinks to not work in read-only (guest) documents. With this fix, hyperlinks should work as expected, making it easier to use guest documents to share resources externally. #8050

๐Ÿ“‹๏ธ eQMS

  • Watermark on obsolete document PDFs

In our last changelog, we introduced a new obsolete status to documents in TraceX to prevent new versions of obsolete documents from being created. We've added a watermark to the PDF version of obsolete documents to make it clear that they are no longer valid. #8206

  • Allow QMS document category to be updated for subsequent versions

Previously, it was not possible to update the category (tag) on a document after the first version. With our latest release, the category can be updated for any subsequent version of a document. This supports use cases where a category may have not been added to the first version, or when the purpose of the document has changed and the category needs to be updated accordingly. #8204

  • Fix for highlighting and positioning of inline comments

This PR fixes an issue with inline comments in QMS documents where highlighting of inline text was not being applied, making it difficult to see the context of each comment. This PR fixes the issue by addressing a small bug in the plugin for displaying comments. #8118

  • Clarification for Trainee vs. Owner labels in Trainings module

We've improved labeling for the Trainee and Owner of a training in the Trainings module. The new labels make it clear who is responsible for completing the training and who is responsible for managing the training. #8046

  • Fix for inline comments in dark mode

This PR resolves an issue where inline comments were not displayed correctly in dark mode. #8031

  • Handling link references for controlled documents

When pasting a link to a controlled document anywhere in the platform, the system now intelligently resolves the link to either a specific document version or the latest effective version based on its status. If the linked document is not effective or in draft (e.g., in review or in approval), the link will reference that specific version. Otherwise, it will resolve to the latest version. Additionally, if a draft exists, only users on the draft team will see the draft reference, while others will see the latest effective version. The link title dynamically updates to reflect either the effective version or, if none exists, the draft version. #8083
